{The Blake Family}

Meet the Blake Family.

All of the kids decided that they needed to celebrate their parents 30th anniversary this year with a photo shoot!  Imagine my excitement when they chose me! 🙂

I had a great time with you all today!  Thanks for making it fun!

Thanks for looking.

I’ve known Dale since he was in junior high and it’s just crazy to think that he’s a senior already!  Poor guy sprained his ankle in football practice, so he hobbled all around for this session.  Despite his pain, we had a great afternoon! 🙂

Hope you enjoy your senior year, Dale!!

{Miss Maddie}

I had the best time on Sunday night chasing Miss Maddie around!!  What a sweet and smiley little girl!

Amanda & Nick, it was great meeting you!  Thanks for letting me capture your gorgeous girlie!

{The Way Family}

If you’ve been around here long, you will definitely recognize Brody.  He’s Eli’s best little buddy!  And Elin has made her share of appearances as well!  They are a gorgeous little family and I had the pleasure of photographing all of them together this morning.

{The W Family}

If there is one word to describe this family, it would be FUN!  You can tell they all absolutely adore each other.  Caleb will be moving out in a few weeks to go to college.  Although he’s not going far, his sister, Anna, will definitely miss him!  I love that close sibling relationship.  I can only hope that little Eli & Ella are the same some day!

He is the goofball of the family, making everyone smile (which sure made my job easy!)  I love how mom is hanging on to him.  I’m sure she’s not quite ready to see him go yet.

Anna is a “sweet, fun girl who loves to laugh” as described by her mother and that rang true!  She was up for anything… poison ivy, mosquitoes, wet grass… nothing held her back 🙂  My kind of girl!!

Thanks for the laughs, W family!  I had a great time with you all!

{What To Wear}

This is such an important question to ask yourself before your session.  Clothing choices definitely make or break a photo.  It can be difficult to coordinate a whole family, so here are some ideas for you!  If you need any help or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

{Crofoot Family Staycation}

We have had an overload of family time in the past week and it’s been great!  After spending the weekend up north with Andy’s family, my brother Marcus flew in from Colorado for my dad’s 60th birthday!  We hadn’t seen him for a year, so it was great to finally be able to hang out!  Unfortunately his wife had to stay home, but hopefully we’ll get to see her soon too.

So, my dad turned 60 and I decided we needed to throw him a party (of course!).  My brother and his family came down and my mom came over too and everyone stayed the night Wednesday night!  It was so fun to be able to hang out with family my for 2 straight days!!!  My aunt was in town from North Carolina, so she came over for the party too.

We made lots of messes, did lots of dishes, ate LOTS of food (& dessert!), laughed a lot, and the kids played in the water pretty much non stop.  It was a great time.  Hopefully we can make it a family tradition!

{Foster Family Vacation}

So we’ve started a new tradition.  Every year, my husband’s whole family gets together for the weekend.  So far, we’ve camped at a campground on the lakeshore, a campground near home and last year we camped out at Andy’s parent’s house.  This year happened to fall on Andy’s grandma’s 80th birthday, so we all packed up and took the 6 (10 if you’re traveling with 2 young children :D) hour trek north!  Andy’s mom and Aunt Jill threw a great luau for Grandma and her twin sister, Aunt Doris.  The idea was for everyone to wear tacky Hawaiian shirts.  I promise, this is not how we dress all the time! 🙂

We had a great time just relaxing and hanging out with our 6 nieces and nephews, eating lots of food and swimming in Lake Michigan.

{Edible Play}

I have been following this blog Play At Home Mom for awhile now.  They come up with the coolest things for moms to do with their kiddos!  Their slogan is “We are a group of moms who have a firm belief in positive parenting and play based learning. We hope to inspire, educate, uplift, and empower you all to be the best moms (and dads) you can be.” and I think they do just that!!  They have quite the following on facebook as well where other moms can post their ideas and photos as well.  After perusing the albums of photos, my friend Michelle and I were inspired!  We knew we just had to get our boys messy!!! Equipped with yogurt, jello powder and dyed spaghetti, we set out to do just that.  I’d have to say… I think we succeeded 🙂

I think it’s still up for debate who had more fun: the moms, or the boys.  After all this messy play, we put the boys in the lake to wash up.  What a perfect Wednesday morning!

Oh, and our little angel baby girls slept the whole time!  What good little sisters 🙂

Don’t forget to check out Play At Home Mom for some great play ideas!

{The Z Family}

This sweet family came all the way from South Haven to meet up for their family pictures! Collin and Dylan were expert posers – you can tell their momma takes lots and lots of pictures of them 🙂  We were blessed with a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

Z family, it was great meeting you!  Thanks for braving the heat with me 🙂
